A trip to the Seamus Heaney Centre π
Today the children in Primary 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Seamus Heaney Centre!
This class were no strangers to the centre having visited last year in P4! This year, however, the boys and girls explored a different KS2 workshop focused on the poem called ‘A Kite for Aibhín’. After completing the tour of the exhibition area the class joined Brid, the Education Officer to find verbs, similes and metaphors within the poem.
The children developed their science skills and scientific language when creating their own kites and then flying themπͺ
We had a fabulous day in Bellaghy and look forward to working with Brid again later in the year, for World Poetry Day and World Book Day π
