A Visit from Lead Midwife Oonagh
Today the children in P3 had a very special visit from Lead Midwife Oonagh.
The children have been learning all about the birth of the baby Jesus at Christmas.
Oonagh chatted to the children about how to take care of a newborn baby and the importance of keeping the newborn baby warm.
Oonagh explained the important measuring duties carried out by the midwife in hospital. She demonstrated how to measure the length of the newborn baby and how to measure the circumference of the head.
Aria Rose volunteered to get her baby Grace’s length and head circumference measured. We were delighted to find out that baby Grace’s measurements were all within the normal range.
After the presentation the children asked Midwife Oonagh lots of interesting questions about her job and about caring for a newborn baby.
Primary Three would like to to say a very big thank you to Oonagh for coming to visit our class today and for all the threats she gave the class.
We would like to bless all the midwives in our community and we pray that God will bless them and keep them safe in their work. 🙏🏻
