We will be hosting a visit from the award-winning and renowned Scottish children’s author Stuart Reid on Wednesday 2nd April 2025.
Stuart is 52 years old and now lives in Falkirk with his wife and two children. His first book, Gorgeous George and the Giant Geriatric Generator, won the Silver Medal at the Forward National Literature Awards, It is the story of a fictitious town where people go missing, and the main character sets out to find them.
Stuart’s last book 'Grandpa Jock and the Incredible Iron-Bru-Man Incident' was launched at the Edinburgh Festival, whilst his new title, Soggy Saturday Sandwich was officially launched at the Nairn Book Festival. His books are beautifully illustrated by John Pender and are written to inspire children to read for pleasure.
Stewart will do a creative writing workshop with all our P6 children, and then have a reading assembly with all children P4 - P7.
After this pupils can purchase a book, all signed by the author, with a personal dedication to each child. Books are £7 each, two for £12, or a school special offer of four books for £20.
