The tradition of carving out pumpkins at Halloween 🎃 began in Ireland.
Many years ago, the people in Ireland
started to carve faces out of turnips, beets and potatoes to frighten away Jack’s wandering soul. He was known as “Jack of the lantern,” and shortly thereafter “Jack o' lantern.”
When Irish immigrants moved to the U.S., they began carving jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins. And there started the tradition of carving out pumpkins 🎃 for Halloween night.
The children had great fun creating their own pumpkins out of clay and we hope they light up your home on Halloween 👻 Night!
