The Primary Seven pupils have been learning about the Irish Famine and reading the novel Under The Hawthorn Tree.
They worked in groups and created their own famine villages. The villages that they constructed consisted of the following buildings, the workhouse, thatch cottages, soup kitchens, the local chapel, coffin ships, meadows, potato fields, ponds and local shops.
The children created their models using recycable materials. They enjoyed working together and created impressive structures.
