Today is Ash Wednesday and this special day marks the beginning of Lent.
Lent is a time for us to reflect and to get closer to God. The children have been learning that Lent is a time to turn away from things that keep us from being close to God, and to turn towards things that help us to be close to God.
The children all received a Trocaire Box to take home and together we found out how this charity supports people in need.
The children received their ashes today and then they chatted in small groups about their Lenten choices.
