Maths Week Ireland 2024 ➕ ➖ ✖ ➗
As you all know last week was 'Maths Week Ireland' all the children were involved in a wide variety of math's related activities both in the school and at home. For a homework activity the pupils designed and made a variety of amazing 2D and 3D Shape Monsters.
All the staff in the school were amazed by the amount of work the pupils put into their designs. The effort made was huge and all the entries were so different and creative. 👾
We had to set all the children's work up in the school hall so everyone could see them. They were set out class by class and we then had the impossible task of picking out two. None of the entries were named so that made it somewhat easier to select. Honestly we could have picked all of them as they were just so good but after much deliberation we finally narrowed it down to two.
We also had a 'Guess The Number Of Sweets In The Jar' competition. The number in the jar was 247 and we had a lot of pupils who were very close to it but only one who guessed the exact number, well done Noah. 🍬
Through this competition the school raised £250.00 which will now go towards buying a selections of math's games for every classroom. 🎲
Please have a look at our pictures and video below to see our various winners and have a glimpse at all the amazing entries the children produced. 🎃
