Maths Week Ireland
Maths Week Ireland is a celebration of the importance of maths in our everyday lives.
It will run in all schools throughout Ireland from the 13th - 21st October.
The aim of this week is to encourage and enhance a positive attitude towards learning maths.
To celebrate Maths Week the children played ‘Spin the Wheel’ together. They had to spin a number wheel and then work out the calculation within their team.
On Tuesday, the children had a visit from a member of the Credit Union. She chatted to the children about how to set up an account and why it is important to save money.
The children also worked in small teams to play a variety of mathematical games. They really enjoyed taking part in this activity and it was more about having fun.
Tomorrow we will be designing number t-shirts and I am looking forward to seeing all of the fun ideas to promote mathematics in Saint Patrick’s.
