Today we celebrated National Poetry Day, in P4/5. The children learned about today’s theme ‘The Environment’ and explored the poem ‘Sounds’ by Alexander Kennedy. We discussed verse, onomatopoeia, repetition, alliteration and loud and quiet verbs. The children then used percussion instruments to create their own sounds for different parts of the poem. What an enjoyable afternoon 👏🏻📚
