Our P6 class worked in teams to plan, design and construct an upright structure that would hold a ball firmly in position and provide it with protection.
Each team received the same resources. All teams were given 20 minutes to create their structure.
The children used excellent problem solving, mathematical and communication skills when working together.
A number of teams completed the challenge successfully. The experiment highlighted to the pupils how important a good structure is for protection.
