P4 trip to the Seamus Heaney Centre βπ»
P4 had a wonderful trip today to the Seamus Heaney Homeplace in Bellaghy to take part in a workshop based on Heaney’s poem ‘A Kite for Aibhín’. πͺ
The children explored this lovely poem with our guide Bríd looking at verbs, similes and metaphors before having a go at making their own kites and trying to fly them up and down the corridor! πͺ
After the workshop, we had a wonderful tour of the Centre and got the chance to select and listen to Seamus Heaney reading some of his most well known poems. The day concluded with some free time in the brilliant Activity Area where the children could draw, create, explore and even dress up! πͺ
Thank you to everyone in the Centre for all your help and information and to Mrs O’Neill and Mrs Quinn for coming along today. πͺ
Have a look at the video to see some of the lovely activities we enjoyed today.πͺ
