Reciting Our Favourite Poems
21st Mar 2025
The children in P3 had great fun today reading and sharing their favourite poems with the class.
The children had the opportunity to try some alliteration techniques during Literacy activities.
Alliteration is a figurative language technique and a type of repetition. It involves repeating the first letter or sound in a string of words. This can sound really pleasing when reading and can also add humour and expression to a piece of writing. Alliteration has an almost poetic effect.
Here are a few examples:
- Can you smell the salty sea air and hear the sound of the squawking seagulls?
- Lucy licked the lemon-flavoured lollipop.
- Give your guess for the greatest gamer in the galaxy.
