Safer Internet Day

7th Feb 2024

The 2024 edition of Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday, 6 February 2024. This special celebration, which takes place in February of each year, aims to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people.

The event has grown year-on-year, and it is now celebrated in approximately 170 countries worldwide!

During this event, lots of local and national organisations come together to raise awareness about the best practices in order to protect our safety online. The Safer Internet Day Slogan is, ‘Together for a better internet’.

The children in P3 discussed in depth how to make the internet a safer place for children to use. I was so impressed with their responses to the teacher-led questions and thoughts on how to stay safe online. They worked together to read the PowerPoint on ‘ Together for a Better Internet’ and then the children completed group activities with their friends. They all made a list of safe adults they can turn to when they are worried about anything online.

Thank you P3 for all your wonderful work completed during Safer Internet Day!
