The Daily Mile πββοΈπ
ππβοΈ The children in P4 were very excited to get started on The Daily Mile last week!
πβοΈπ The Daily Mile is a fully-inclusive, free and simple initiative which improves the physical and mental health of children. It also improves focus in the classroom.
ππβοΈ It’s a social activity where the children run or jog, at their own pace, for 15 minutes every day or at least 3 times a week.
πβοΈπ The aim of The Daily Mile is to incorporate 10-15 minutes of self-paced physical activity (walking, jogging, wheeling or running) into our daily life, to experience the benefits of regular exercise.
ππβοΈ We all know that regular physical activity has a positive impact on our health and wellbeing, and can help us to feel refreshed, happier, more productive, and less stressed.
ππβοΈ By getting #FitForLife with The Daily Mile, we are taking the first steps to leading a more active, healthier lifestyle.
πβοΈπThis isn’t about elite sport or exercise – we simply go outside into the fresh air in what we’re wearing, to get fit in 15 minutes of self-paced walking, jogging, wheeling or running.
πβοΈπ In this time, most people will average a mile or more. By focusing on the time of 15 minutes rather than on the distance, it keeps The Daily Mile non-competitive, social, and inclusive – everyone can take part at their own pace, regardless of age, ability or personal circumstance.
