The Feast Day of Saint Brigid

1st Feb 2022

Many hundreds of years ago, St. Brigid was born in Ireland. The year was 452. Brigid dedicated her life to helping the sick, poor and elderly. We celebrate her feast day on the 1st of February.

The children found out lots of interesting information about Brigid. I hope you enjoy listening to all their stories  about Saint Brigid.

St. Brigid’s Blessing

May Brigid bless the house wherein you dwell
Bless every fireside every wall and door
Bless every heart that beats beneath its roof
Bless every hand that toils to bring it joy
Bless every foot that walks its portals through
May Brigid bless the house that shelters you.

The children all received a Saint Brigid’s Cross to take home. The crosses were blessed by Fr MGuigan at 10am mass.
